Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer is making a monumental mistake by agreeing to vote yes on the disastrous GOP continuing resolution, and it's time for new leadership.
If Nancy Pelosi wasn’t in charge when we had the majority Shumer probably would’ve given in to Trump back then. Shumer had gotten weak and it’s time for him to get out of the way. We also need a stronger House Minority Leader like Jasmine Crockett. Crockett would’ve made Shumer stick to the party line just like Pelosi did.
I don't even have the words to express how upset I am with Chuck Schumer. There can be no other explanation for this other than that he intends to make this his last term. Rev. Warnock and Jon Ossoff represent my area, and the cuts buried to hell in this bill will bring a large part of our economy to a halt. Both of them were aware that Austin Scott (the R rep for this area) had been seen on the AF base here, but not ever in his office or available for interviews.
I didn't vote for Trump, or for any of this to happen to my neighbors. I get the FAFO contingent out there that believe these people are getting what they deserve. (The AF base here employs a lot of federal workers - Trump won this area with 55% of the county.) There is a lot of buyer's remorse here and I get it - many of these people voted with their skin color and not with their brains. The problem is that a lot of those workers are also veterans.. and they are getting screwed not once, but twice over. I don't care who they voted for, they didn't vote to slash their lives like that. And they sure as hell didn't vote for Musk.
No matter. Onward and forward -- the best I can do is prepare my household and get my parents and my brother squared away. I need to protect them as much as I can.
I will say this much though.. if my neighbors tell me they need help... I am not going to ask them who they voted for. As long as they are no threat to my safety or my family's, I'll be there to help.

I have never witnessed a bigger betrayal of leadership in the Democratic Party.

In times of confusion, some moments of great clarity arrive. As the inimitable Warren Buffet once said "when the tide goes out, you learn who's swimming without a bathing suite". Mr Schumer has outlive his usefulness in this time when one side is intent on rewriting the rules.
Chuck thinks that a government shutdown could mean many agencies not reopening. And that is a possible outcome, although it’s not the opinion of others. I believe that this is something that we can’t trust them not to do.
Chuck needs to retire and every Dem needs to be primaried. Get them the eff out! Sick of this shit. I’m white and I didn’t vote for this shit. I voted for Kamala. It hurts me to see people getting hurt, I will keep moving forward with my community that we built in 2 months and it’s getting bigger and stronger. Everyone is accepted but Nazis! We had a white nationalist attack a veteran with a knife while he was out protesting, peacefully holding a sign I front of city hall! The MF cops said they couldn’t prove the guys were part of a WN group, yet we looked up the attacker and guess what? He has a record and listed on his record was his tattoos, 1 being a swastica and two others pertaining to hitler. I’m in a red state with all state reps and gov being republican. The attacker is out on a 100 year suspended sentence for beating a cop, robbery, drugs and a whole bunch of other shit. Hello probation? We did go speak up for the victim at a city hall meeting and they were surprised at this new information. 🤦♀️ we fight on.

I don’t think the equities/arguments pro & con were at all clear cut and I think it’s a waste of time to attack Chuck Schumer’s leadership position. We have a hell of a lot of work to do to right the ship of state without fighting amongst ourselves.
