Watched this AM the grilling of Kennedy and saw people removed from the gallery who were calling him out on vaccines and budget cuts!!! He’s such a joke!!! Loved Murkowski and I forgot the senator before her who tore him up! Got him frazzled!!!
Yet we can give aid to strangers from across the waters, just coming off a plane, but to suffering Americans who pay for the aid, we get it cut. Make this @#$#4 make sense, someone.
Thanks for the inspiration. I call all three MoCs and asked their aides to provide me with a written report showing the impact of proposed cuts to Medicaid to Arkansans.
Good work Elizabeth. Though he should've had the numbers and specifics to some of your questions. Simon, people with Rep. Congresspeople, call them, make them answer for their actions. Let them know you oppose.
He knows or should know. At least she can get a human on the phone. My rep no longer takes calls. You can’t leave a VM. You can send an email. That’s it!
Marsha Blackburn’s staff deliberately misrepresenting the Republican budget and the massive cuts to Medicaid to her constituents. MAGA endorsed this advertisement.
I just emailed a link to Elizabeth’s fine work to my U.S. Congresswoman Diana Harshbarfer (oops! it’s Harshbarger) of East Tennessee, since she posted the following nonsense earlier today:
“That’s a wrap, folks!
We just delivered our portion of President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill—unleashing American energy, rolling back the Green New Deal scam, securing Medicaid for our most vulnerable, and so much more.
And it only took 26 hours, thanks to Democrats’ endless pandering and political games.
There are a couple of million people across this nation who are in decent health, are more than capable of obtaining a full-time job WITH employer-provided health insurance, but carefully craft their earnings and hours to qualify for Medicaid.
In my home state of Arizona I personally know of four people in their 30s or 40s who are skilled at milking AHCCCS (Arizona Medicaid) by living intentionally just below the threshold for Medicaid qualification.
With a little effort and a dose of self awareness they could do better.
One in six Arizona residents are on AHCCCS. All you need do is remain technically "vulnerable" under the existing requirement schemata.
The rest of us pay for OUR health insurance and theirs; and it's a burden.
There's too many people deliberately gaming the system because AHCCCS is overly generous. But that generosity is slowly, incrementally eroding people's willingness to be their best and be productive humans, not barnyard livestock waiting to be fed and milked.
How could you possibly know everything about those four people and their lives that you are the one to determine their level of need? Many people have disabilities that may not be obvious to the casual observer. Many people have struggles beyond what they show to others, especially someone they know is not supportive of them. You have passed judgment on those four people without walking in their shoes to know whether or not there is a true need. You look at it from the outside and assume you know everything about them and decide they don’t deserve help. It’s virtually impossible for you to know everything that brought them to this point so maybe don’t be so quick to judge whether or not people need help. You can’t always tell what people deal with that puts them in a position to need assistance.
Two of them are neighbors, two are friends of my 29 and 30 year old children.
One in four Arizonans are on Medicaid. And if you take into account that Arizona is a top retirement destination, with almost all retirees being on Medicare ( like me) we're likely talking about one out of three of the remaining residents of this state being on Medicaid.
This state has one of the most robust economies in the US. The fact that that many people are enrolled in AHCCCS is a red flag and symptom of two things.
1) The income level at which a single person, or a family, can no longer qualify is too high.
And
2) AHCCCS is free if you qualify.
AHCCCS is too easy to qualify for and overly generous. Most states are similarly situated. There are too many people nationwide who get on it in spite of the fact that they could, with a little effort and ambition, find work with an employer who has a decent health care plan and actually pay their share of those plans like most people do.
Medicaid is being “gamed” by too many, at the expense of others. It if my fervent hope that Medicaid eligibility requirements are tightened significantly.
Total 2024 federal Medicaid expenditures were a whopping $914 billion.
Yes, because your response illustrates that your anecdotal experience is just that - ancedotal. You have no viable, reliable data that you can provide to support your position that "There's too many people deliberatly gaming the system because AHCCCS is overly generous."
Bezos and his bozo billionare yt boys' club, et al. need to pay folks a phucking living wage so they can afford to purchase insurance that isn't a piece of shyt.
You might wanna read up on the demographic of folks covered under medicaid before spewing your "boot straps" bullshyt.
Holy moly! I’m impressed that you stayed so calm and polite in the face of Republican pure damn stupidity.
This is exactly the sort of thing that people need to see. Well done.

Double Speak is always clear like talking with mouth full of marbles.

Thank you so much for doing this. Infuriating.

Missouri here. Mine seem to be that way as well.
Blackburn is evil and needs to go!

I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
Does Ms. Booker impress you as one of “our most vulnerable “?
Your point?

Aren't you glad you asked?

Just keep telling yourself that, if it helps.
And you do the same. 😉 😂
She is part of inefficiency and fraud, waste and abuse!
