Elizabeth, I see you and thank you for all that you do👏🏽 breathe. You are the fiercest of voices.

Your piece is so critical to parents and all of us who have a stake in education! As who determines where this stops, and what else is erased? You’re an amazing momma warrior, and I love your posts yet I can feel your weariness as you continue your fight. Take care of yourself and your baby so that we can all continue onward! We need leaders who have courage, conviction, intelligence, and voice like you🩷💕🩷💕🩷💕🩷

Huh...

So my disability, which certainly detracts from my "perfection" as one of God's creatures, might indicate my great and numerous sins?

But moral disability is OK? Must be, right?

GREAT piece! Thank you!

I’m also in MoCo (DTSS!) and a fellow fed, although not a parent. (And we moved here from ATL no less!)

That this came out of our community has been hard to swallow but also an important reminder that we must remain ever-vigilant. Nevertheless, I’m also grateful every day that we live here in Maryland rather than elsewhere in the DMV.

I too live in a progressive bubble (Santa Cruz County, CA), and I had a thought while reading your article. What about the school board reversing the opt-out to an opt-in student/classroom on a school year basis? I know there are some Phys ed classes that are opt-in...as are classes for various student needs (i.e. reading or writing). When the time comes for the 'reading' there is a concurrent class doing the same thing but not with the same material.

Thank you. As a fellow Memphian (by way of the bridge) it is wonderful to have proximity.

My colleague and I are working on an Anthology on Social Justice and all the things I see you writing about. A submission from you would be an inspiration to our readers. Let me know how to connect with you. PS. We are both from or near Memphis and are both Federal employees.
